The story behind my 2010 Smithsonian/Cooper-Hewitt award-winning Original Braille/Print Alphabet Bracelet, which I designed and began selling in 2002 ... braille literacy - and, greed. (It was what I wanted for our son, and me!)

Really wanting to learn it as our son was learning it in Pre-K, with the help of my husband (a university typeography prof) the idea for braille on the front, print on the back of each cell bead was conceived!

(Second picture is of Blake Mycoskie (who won the same Smithsonian/Cooper-Hewitt award the year before I did) wearing one of the alphabet bracelets. I've got at least one pair of TOM shoes!)

(Basically, you need a really compelling story for me to make you one of these, 'cause a lot of people might be tempted to reenact the Tanya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan scene to get the last of these!)
